The Prodigal Son (1981)

The similarities between this movie and The Magnificant Butcher are many.

They're both comedy kungfu flick (is there other kind of kungfu flick after Bruce Lee?)

In The Magnificant Butcher, Yuen Biao plays a cameo or supporting role for Sammo Hung, while in this 1, their roles are reversed. They were both from the same Peking drama performance school.

Lam Ching-Ying plays minor villians who fights with our heroes in both movies.

Both of these 2 stories are based in Foshan - the Cantonese mecca for Southern Style martial arts schools. In this case, Wong Fei-Hung and Wing-Chung schools. And both stories took place about roughly the same period of the late Qing dynasty.

These 2 movies also represented their respective 1st breaks in martial arts stardom.

Needless to say, with all these similarities, any fan of 1 would automatically be fan of the other.
